How to Prepare
Place a hard-boiled egg on the surface of your cutting board.
Now, take a sharp chef’s knife and, starting from the handle end of the knife (where the blade is often broadest and most stable), insert the knife into the top center of the egg.
Gently roll the egg until it cuts all the way around, keeping the knife just at the surface of the egg white, so it doesn’t cut all the way through.
Now, you should be able to gently separate the egg white halves from the perfectly intact yolk.
Kitchen tip
Make sure to keep the edge of the knife just at the surface of the egg so it doesn’t cut all the way through.
