How To Prepare
Gently add your eggs to the air fryer basket and then air fry them at 275F (135C) for about 11-13 minutes depending on how jammy you like your eggs.
While the eggs are cooking, fill a bowl with ice water.
As soon as the timer goes off, transfer the eggs to the bowl of ice water which will prevent the eggs from overcooking and makes it easier to remove the peels.
Finally, peel the eggs and enjoy.
Air Fryer Hard Boiled Egg Tips
- Time it right: You may have to play around with timing for your particular air fryer since brands and models vary slightly, but the general rule is: Soft Boiled: 9-10 min at 275°F (135°C), Jammy: 11–13 min at 275°F (135°C), Hard-boiled: 14–15 min at 275°F (135°C).
- Use an ice bath: As soon as the eggs are done cooking, transfer them into an ice water bath. This stops them from cooking any further and makes peeling a breeze.
- Don’t Preheat: we know there is conflicting information out there, but we have tested this recipe with both a preheated and cold air fryer basket, and the conclusion is do not preheat the air fryer. Starting with a cold air fryer lets the eggs warm up with the machine, so they cook way more evenly.
- Test with one egg first: Use one sacrificial egg to test out the ideal timing and temp for your air fryer before committing to a full batch.
Kitchen tip
Use older eggs if you can—they’re easier to peel than fresh ones!

Questions
Can you make hard boiled eggs in an air fryer?
Absolutely! Gently add the eggs to the air fryer basket and air fry them at 275°F (135°C) anywhere from 11-13 minutes for jammy eggs. The general rule is: Soft Boiled: 9-10 min at 275°F (135°C), Jammy: 11–13 min at 275°F (135°C), Hard-boiled: 14–15 min at 275°F (135°C).
Can you freeze hard boiled eggs?
Technically, yes—but it’s not ideal. The whites get rubbery and weird after thawing, so it’s best to avoid freezing whole hard-boiled eggs. If you em must freeze them, stick to just the yolks.
which air fryer do you use?
We have the mark COSORI Pro II Air Fryer Oven Combo. The recipe time and temperature vary by appliance, so please keep an eye on the eggs as they cook.
why do you place the cooked eggs into an ice bath?
The process of transferring hot food directly into ice water is called “shocking,” and it’s a technique you can use whenever you want to immediately stop food from cooking any further. In this case, it also helps easily release the shell from the egg.
What if our air fryer doesn’t have a 250°F (130°C) setting?
If your air fryer only has a 300°F (150°C) setting, that’s fine. Cook the eggs at 300°F for 12-14 minutes. You might need to adjust the time slightly depending on your air fryer’s performance.
How do you store Air Fryer Hard Boiled Eggs?
Once cooled, store them unpeeled in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week. If they’re already peeled, keep them in a container with a damp paper towel to prevent drying out. Bonus: They make grab-and-go snacks or salad toppers!
