Cheesy Garlic Bread

We have been making this Cheesy Garlic Bread for years, and it is the ⭐ star of the show every time we bring it out for an occasion. It’s the first appetizer to disappear on the table and a total crowd-pleaser. This recipe takes minimal effort but brings maximum flavor. It’s cheesy, garlicky and must make!

What stands out

Our Cheesy Garlic Bread is a cinch to put together and is an absolute hit every time. We love it because it delivers big bold flavor but doesn’t take a lot of effort or time. We prefer the sweetness of roasted garlic here, but if you’re short on time, you can use garlic powder or finely minced raw garlic. Whatever you choose, this bread is ooey gooey garlicky, cheesy and buttery perfection.

How to Prepare Cheesy Garlic Bread

Preheat the oven to 400F (200C).

Now, take a whole head of garlic and cut off the top so that the garlic is exposed. Add a drizzle of oil. Wrap the head in foil and then roast it in the oven for 35 minutes or until caramelized and soft.

Let the garlic cool, then squeeze it out of its shell into a bowl and give it a mash with the softened butter, parsley, pinch of salt and grated parmesan.

Next, take the baguette and make 8 slits with a knife only 3/4 of the way, making sure not to cut all the way through.

Add a touch of the roasted garlic butter inside each opening and add a piece of cheese into each slit as well.

Brush the remaining garlic butter on the top of the bread and roll up the baguettes in foil.

Bake on a baking sheet in a preheated 400F (200C) oven for 25 minutes or until golden.

After 25 minutes, uncover it and optionally bake on broil for about a minute, keeping a close eye on them. Serve warm and enjoy.

Swaps

  1. You can add any herbs you love, we personally think fresh tastes better.
  2. Please don’t use pre-shredded mozzarella in a bag, use a better quality block of cheese if possible as it will taste better.
  3. If you don’t like using foil you can bake these in an oven-safe tray with a lid.
  4. If you do not want to roast the garlic, feel free to use 3 to 4 minced cloves of fresh garlic instead, but roasting it makes it so flavorful, sweet, and less pungent.
  5. Use any loaf you love for this Cheesy Garlic Bread, such as whole wheat, rye, or your favorite gluten-free loaf.
  6. You can use other cheeses like provolone, cheddar, or brie instead of mozzarella.
