Strawberry Overnight Oats

Want a breakfast that practically makes itself while you sleep? Sweet, creamy, and bursting with fresh strawberry flavor, these Strawberry Overnight Oats are the ultimate grab-and-go meal. They’re packed with the good stuff – fiber, vitamin C, and protein – leaving you feeling full without the mid-morning crash. With only 6 ingredients and 5 minutes of prep before bed, you’ll wake up to a ready-to-eat jar of goodness. Enjoy them chilled straight from the jar, topped with extra berries and crunchy granola for the finish.

What stands out

Strawberry shortcake…but make it breakfast? The only thing better than sleeping in is waking up to this! Hearty oats soak up the almond milk overnight, resulting in a silky smooth texture and slightly nutty flavor. A dollop of vanilla yogurt and a drizzle of maple syrup add extra creaminess and sweetness to your oats, making them feel more like a dessert than the most important meal of the day. Finally, they’re topped with fresh strawberries for a burst of natural sweetness in every bite. Indulgent, fresh, and totally customizable, Strawberry Overnight Oats have all the flavors you love, with zero morning effort.

Oats: Quick cooking rolled oats work best to absorb the liquid. You could use other varieties, like gluten-free or steel cut, but keep in mind that the texture will be different and they will need to soak longer to absorb the liquid.

Maple Syrup: Sweet liquid gold adds sweetness and notes of caramel to your breakfast oats. We like to use pure maple syrup, but any sweetener of choice, such as honey or agave, will work.

Vanilla extract: Adds more flavor and gives your oats a strawberry shortcake vibe.

Vanilla yogurt: This triple-threat adds creaminess, protein, and flavor to transform your oats into the ultimate breakfast comfort food.

Almond milk: We like to use unsweetened almond milk. You can even make your own using our Homemade Almond Milk recipe.

Strawberries: Fresh diced strawberries add juicy bursts of flavor. If prepping ahead, it’s best to add these just before serving to keep them from getting soggy.

Kitchen tip

Amp up the protein in this recipe by adding vanilla protein powder. You may have to add a touch more milk so it’s not too thick.

Meal Prep and Storage Tips

  • Make ahead for the week – Prep a few mason jars at once so breakfast is ready to grab and go. They’ll stay fresh for up to 4–5 days in the fridge.
  • Layer smart – If you’re prepping ahead for a few days, it’s best to keep your strawberries separate until serving so they stay fresh and firm. Same rules apply for nuts and granola.
  • Stir before serving – The oats will continue to thicken in the fridge, so give them a good mix to bring back that creamy consistency. You can add a splash of almond milk if needed.
  • Customize each jar – Use the same oat base and switch up the flavors with seasonal fruits, spices, or nut butters so you never get bored.

Ingredients

Makes 1 serving

  • ½ cup rolled oats, I used quick cooking
  • ½ tablespoon maple syrup
  • ¼ tsp pure vanilla extract, or vanilla bean paste
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla yogurt
  • 2 strawberries, finely diced
  • ½ cup unsweetened almond milk
