How to Prepare
Take 4 cups of broth (like our homemade broth below, or you can use store-bought) and simmer in a pot on the stove.
To make homemade chicken broth first add 10 cups of water to a big pot. Then put in whole peeled veggies like carrots, onion, celery, peeled garlic, and leeks. Now, bring all of this to a boil, and then add salt and 4 chicken thighs (or any cut of chicken), and let it boil for one hour. We used four cups of this broth for our base.
Drop in the dumplings and cook until they float to the top (approximately 2 minutes).
Now for the finishing touches, add chili oil (optional, omit if you don’t like heat), hoisin sauce, and garnish with scallions.
